Text-to-Speech Meme Generator: A Review and Comparison

Are you tired of using robotic voices for your memes? Look no further than Kapwing's text-to-speech meme generator! While it may not sound as natural as Polly or Google, it's the most unrobotic TTS I've encountered so far.

Kapwing supports a variety of meme formats, including images, videos, and GIFs. Using the editor, you can upload or add text in the appropriate place to get your meme looking exactly how you want. However, my problem with this tool is that it's not free - apparently, it requires payment. This is similar to why I wouldn't hire a voice actor.

Clipchamp, on the other hand, is an easy online video editor that lets you create and add voiceovers to your videos for free! So, is Clipchamp's voiceover feature free? Yes, it is!

Another great tool is yo BUBBLE, which allows you to add speech to your memes. However, my problem with this one is that it requires an AWS account, which I tried to set up but got stuck in the mobile confirmation process - the code from AWS wouldn't reach my phone, so that's a no-go for now.

I've looked into several services and think Amazon Polly and Google TTS are the most natural-sounding options I've encountered. However, I'm not planning on monetizing my content, so hiring someone to do the voiceover isn't cost-efficient.

My few problems with using text-to-speech services include: 1) I don't plan on making money from my videos, so hiring a voice actor is out of the question; 2) I don't like my own voice and don't have the talent to record a good voiceover myself; and 3) even if I didn't have these issues, I wouldn't have the necessary equipment to record a high-quality voiceover.

If you're familiar with Noah Caldwell-Gervais, check out his YouTube channel - it's probably the closest example of what I'd like to aim for. Overall, I'm happy using text-to-speech services and think they can help me create great video essays about video games.
